As I'm sure we're all aware, the Scilly Isles are no more than a hotbed of revolution and law breaking.
The situation is so bad that Radio Scilly has focused on the issue of dog fouling. Andy Thomas is leading the way in this battle against the greatest grumble on the island. In fact, he is heading up a public consultation.
He is an enforcement officer, I am, therefore, relieved to learn that he will not be using just any old witness statement! Obviously, only professional witnesses will be good enough to get offenders before the criminal courts.
The older among us might remember that one of our former Prime Ministers, Harold Wilson, Baron Wilson of Rievaulx, and his wife, Mary, were famous for holidaying in the Scillies. I cannot imagine that the Islanders would have allowed their dogs to spoil Harold and Mary's holiday.
My message is, therefore, clear. Unless the Islanders want David Cameron on their doorstep, they need to clean their act up!
